Traffic cones are used to indicate, demarcate, warn or delineate an area. Road cones are also widely used for construction, mining, industry, traffic, police and in the military. Traffic cones are manufactured from flexible high visibility plastic material with the colour moulded into the cone and a base to keep the traffic cone upright and on the road. There are various road cones, the soft PVC range and then the hard plastic moulded road cone. The soft cones are flexible so there is no damage to a vehicle that drives over the cone. The cones Reflective sleeves ensure high visibility at night. These cones are compact, easily stackable and therefore easy to store. The 1.8 metre Barrier Cones, are mainly used at open cast mines. These cones are used to demarcate the edges of open pit roads, as well as to indicate various areas within the mine. The 1.8m cone is a plastic moulded road cone and thus not as impact resistant as the soft PVC cone. Some common uses are:
